Can’t Take My Eyes Off You

I was today watching Conspiracy Theory when I heard a song that I’ve not listened to in a long time. And that’s a shame, because I totally love that song. It’s none other than Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, written by Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio, and shot to fame by Frankie Valli in 1967. Versioned by people from Pet Shop Boys to Gloria Gaynor. Personally, my favourite is Lauryn Hill’s version. Here you have the lyrics, pay attention to them, I think they’re absolutely beautiful. (more…)

Esta mañana he leído el mensaje que una amiga ha puesto en su blog. Aunque gran parte de lo que dice se refiere a asuntos personales, toca un tema que, a mi parecer, resulta de gran importancia: el camino correcto. Internet always finds ways to surprise me, constantly. Well, it’s not internet, rather it’s what people does, and how it finds its way into internet. This time it’s Hotdoll, the sex doll for dogs. Well, actually it’s a project from Feel Addicted (jokingly? serious?) and you can’t acquire it… Yet. And this one is for dogs, but I bet sooner or later, someone will do a version for humans. When it appears, I’ll post Your dog-shaped pumping doll for $59.95.

phpBB and spam

I just spent three hours trying to fix one of the phpBB boards I administrate so it could fight spam better. However, it wasn’t as easy as I thought. This was a very needed change for more than a year, but I felt very lazy about digging old code I changed and how to adapt new code to my changes. (more…)

Apache and PHP woes

I maintain an AMP server in my computer; AMP stands for (A)pache (M)ySQL (P)HP. The most common flavor is actually LAMP (for Linux), where a whole server with basic features is built just with free and open source software. However, I’ve never dared to install and use Linux (yet), so I do it in Windows. However, I’m going away from the point. (more…)

In the end I’ve decided to adhere to a known license, and distribute my work under the Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Commercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 License. I’ve updated the relevant page accordingly, and a banner is placed in every page of this site, in the Site Meta located at the right sidebar.

Insecurely secure

I was finally uploading a semi-definitive version of Pi in the Sky to EligeOtraVez.net when I noticed a small error in the XHTML code of one of the posts. I went there to edit it, make the change, press save and… Oooops! 403: Forbidden. You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/post.php on this server. (more…)
