According to the Conjugation Practical Manual Larousse, a.k.a. “Larousse of the Conjugation”, by Ramón García-Pelayo y Gross (what a name), Fernando García-Pelayo y Gross, (the bro, I suppose) y Micheline Durand (I don’t think she’s the sis), 1996 edition with ISBN 84-8016-026-8, it’s elige, with G like in garlic. Know that when I went to reserve this domain, I had the same doubt, since in The Rise Of Endymion it appears with another translation, and I had to look the conjugation manual to be sure if it was with J or G.
