Virus & backups

Yesterday I accidentally clicked on a file which I knew it was a trojan. I’ve spent five hours today trying to get rid of it, without any luck. Thankfully I had a mildly recent backup, only 20 days old, and I was able to restore it without any problem thanks to Acronis True Image. However I lost my entire Games folder because I tried to remove the trojan/rootkit with a bad product called CounterSpy. In the end I think I didn’t lost anything due to the rootkit itself, which is kind of… Weird. Acronis True Image: good. Sunbelt CounterSpy: big, slow, bad, dangerous to use.

Desde luego, las copias de seguridad son indispensables, al menos tener respaldados los datos en algún disco duro externo. He perdido ya la cuenta de las veces que he perdido todo o casi todo por culpa de virus o averías. Se ve que tengo mala suerte, pero por eso ya guardo siempre una copia periódica de todo. Si no hay manera de evitarlo, por lo menos que las consecuencias no sean muy graves. Suerte y un saludo.

Exacto, una copia de seguridad es indispensable, y el hábito de hacerla y guardarla es la única manera de recuperarse de una catástrofe. Yo intento hacer una cada 10-15 días, por lo menos. Yo uso Acronis True Image y hago una imagen de mi unidad C: que grabo en un DVD+RW.
