Sonic’s Rendezvous Band
City Slang
Some dirt in my hand
A part of the land
Slip and slide communication
Downtown on the street
They measure the beat
To understand the situation
A taste on the tongue
And no place to run
With all the chances to be taken
The stranger he buys
The angel she flies
My heart is cold just like the nation
Like a dog they kick at night
Gypsy laughin’ but that’s alright
Momma’s cryin’ sister thinkin’
Well you know it’s just city slang
We road in the car
Slept in the car
All the way to the citadel
Slept on the floor
Surfed on the floor
All the way to the coronet
Rock was pissed in Paris
Mad in Madrid
Took the sonic european way
Gary and rock
Sonic and Scott
Meet again up in Ishpeming
When you hear that hammer fallin’
Ain’t no reason to feel left out
Ain’t no reason to call any names
Well you know it’s just city slang
With funky and dog
To minni and mad
All the way to the Aragon
Cleveland and Shi
Ann Harbor, Detroit
All the way back to the second chance
Je sui un son
Un otre son
Qui n’entend qu’une cloche n’entend qu’une son
Je sui le son
Je sui son son
Hey what kind of fool do you think I am
Keep a talkin’ those city dreams
Well you know allright you know what I mean
Detroit, Chicago now New York to L.A.
They all been talkin’ ’bout city slang
Please, everyone have a good beer today, at least one for me, because I can’t go out and I can’t drink *sob*. I’m also warning you that I’ll probably take down this site for a while until I update all the software.
Today I’ve received something from the other side of the pond, more specifically from Cauliflowernia. I asked Mr. Do for a favour and he added some more items in the package. One of them is a mighty great Atari Tetris (1988) bezel. A bezel is a piece of artwork which surrounds the screen in an arcade machine. The other is a great sticker with the non-TM version of the MAME logo; the sticker is about 27cm wide, I’ll see where I can put it.
I plan to frame the bezel with a print of the Atari Tetris intro screen as shown in the image. I just need to decide which of the MAME overlays looks closer to an arcade monitor.
(more…)
Well, it seems that someone has found an exploit somewhere in my site, and it’s using my space and bandwidth to add up to their link farm. It’s nothing severe, probably a WordPress or WP plugin exploit with file injection and some dead chicken voodoo. I should upgrade WP but I don’t feel like doing it now, between the shoulder and the ankle, I’m not in the right state of mind for some coding.
And my PS2 controller broke while/because playing We Love Katamari. Argh.
Dear Internet:
Thank you. Thank you for all the things you gave to us, and thank you for all the things you’re still giving to us. (more…)
Well, here’s a game to help you with your english vocabulary, and to help relieve a bit of hunger in the world. It’s called FreeRice and it’s simple to play. It helps you build a better vocabulary, and for each correct word, you’re making a donation which is paid with the advertising. Everyone wins, so play now.
I’ve been a few days wanting to do a positive update to this site, telling all the good stuff (besides the shoulder) which has been happening to me lately. Instead, I’m telling you all that yesterday I stepped badly into a pothole in the street, slipped and fell. The left knee was mildly scratched, a lot of blood but nothing serious. The right ankle was twisted, and I have a pretty severe sprain with important swelling. The result: a mid-cast from toes to knee (not included) for about 15 days minimum. Total prohibition to use the foot to walk or anything. Keep it high. Walk with croutches. All that shit. Ah, well, one can’t scape from Murphy… Not even the town, which is going to be sued ^_^
So yesterday I was shopping and I pampered myself with two whimsical things I had from long ago. The first one is Gil Elvgren - The Complete Pin-Ups, which I’ve been searching for a long time, and that I found by pure chance. A wonderful thing, and with this thing of Taschen’s 25th anniversary, very cheapy. The other one is M.C. Escher, Graphic Work, and this one was also ubercheap for the quality it has. And both of them were together! I didn’t want to separate one of each other so I bought both ^_^
