To me, language is a barrier. We have ideas going around in our head, and we have to find the appropiate words or expressions to communicate those ideas. Many of us have found ourselves in the situation where a feeling, a sensation or an idea is clear in our head, but we found difficulties in expressing it verbally in a clear way. (more…)

The puzzle of the mind

In 2008, I read a book called “Sunbathing under the rain”, by Gwyneth Lewis (a wonderful gift from a wonderful friend). The book deals with the experience with depression that the author had, a welsh poetess. As poetess, she made many metaphors, analogies and other figures of speech related to depression. One of the analogies caught my attention very much, and in it she compared the emotional depression with the meteorologic low pressures, and how they, indirectly, cause the rain, because the rain is what fits the inestable void of the low pressures. Just like that, in our depressions we search for causes which fit in that void, although they don’t have any relationship. It looked to me as a very accurate concept, although not enough developed. Inspiring myself in that analogy and in the described concept, I applied it to my current situation and to my experience in searching for psychological causes for my moods, and as result, I established another analogy. Late anniversary

Well, I wasn’t around, or more exactly, the site wasn’t around to celebrate the first anniversary of the site. Of itself. Whatever. I thought that after such a long hiatus, I should remember and remind you the best stuff I’ve put in this site since its inception in April the 17th of 2007. (more…)

Comeback

Hello everyone, again. After months of laziness, I’ve decided to put up the old site while I develop the new one. Actually I haven’t even started it. Lots of changes in my life, related directly or indirectly to Pi In The Sky, have prevented me from even thinking about what skin I will use. For example, my main development platform is Ubuntu now. I’ve not even set up the LAMP server to do the stuff.

I hope the site is not too broken, nor that it’s hacked again due to another unsanitized database input in some random plugin… At least I have some new articles to put up in the meanwhile.
