LOTRO - free or not

My last addiction regarding games has been The Lord Of The Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar (aka LOTRO), the MMORPG version of the literary classic and encumbered cinematographic trilogy of The Lord Of The Rings. Because who will believe that someone would make one of the most complex and ambitious MMORPG compared to the original source, if that source weren’t polished until shining due to one of the most ambitious sagas in cinema history. No, it’s not that House M.D. episode. It’s a set phrase, or a saying. Maybe a quite, an adagio, a cutural reference which is very common. Actually, there are versions of it referring to the same concept in the majority of languages and cultures. It’s a constant, which comes actually from the fact that we humans are social animals, and societies reflect very well the defects of their individuals. (more…)

¿La intención es lo que cuenta?

Hoy (bueno, un día de estos) me he despertado con una pregunta en la cabeza, aunque es una de esas preguntas difíciles de poner por escrito. Aunque en mi cabeza está clara, incluye conceptos e ideas en una red compleja de implicaciones, ardua de desenmarañar. Así que quizá sea mejor obviar la pregunta y comenzar con alguna explicación. Tal vez al leer alguna respuesta, se pueda comprender la pregunta. Así que preparaos para una lectura densa y abstracta. De hecho, casi os recomendaría no leer esto… (more…)

The modern Thailand, formerly kown as Siam, is the origin of several native breeds of oriental cats. The first oriental cat breed recongized in the West was the siamese, taking its name from Siam - although incorrectly, since that variety was extended over all the asian southeast. (more…)
