Stage two: little corner for software(z). The bottom image gives a better view of what I’ve put there for now. I’ll have to dig up my really old software (made before Links) to complete the space. The other wall will be for old books and stuff.
It’s not the first package I got from overseas this year; I got the Animusic and Animusic 2 DVDs from Chris in mid January (and I’ll have to write about them!) But this package deserves an instant mention. I got it from Bwlag (real name is confidential), a great guy who is helping me in my Links golf sim series collection. Since he spent a significant amount of money in acquiring items for dumping and preservation, I offered to buy some from him so he could recover a bit. This coming week I’m on vacation, but with a cold. Thank you, mr. Murphy.
Well, finally! I’ve done these shelves during this week. I did this design myself on the weekend, spans 4×6 squares and contains the pieces L, J, Z, S and T. The main structure was done on monday, while I finished it on tuesday. Yesterday I finished putting the edges and back panels, and this morning I corrected the position of two screws which were screwing the purpose of the back panels. The structure is supported by those panels, so it can bear with being full of books. The total cost has been 58.47€, and maybe 6-7 hours of work. Not exactly ikea-cheap nor very professional either, but I’m damn proud of the result and wanting to repeat the experience.
I was planning to do something else, but decided on a Tetris theme before and after looking at this page about 30 of the Most Creative Bookshelves Designs. However, it might give you some more ideas.

Tonight I had a dream where I had frogs in my wallet. I don’t know what it means, but this weekend I got a new digital camera, a black Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ4. For the first time I have a camera which takes pictures exactly as I see things.
Next week I’m working again, in the same place, almost same position.
After five months of work stress, the job left me. I don’t renew the contract, so I’m again unemployed. So what? They say it’s a time of new opportunities, but right now what I want is some holidays and relax. It was a good place, plenty of great people there, you know who you are. Specially the girls ^_^ And now that I will have more free time, I guess I’ll update more often… Or not?
Well, the last day of the year, time to do one last quick update. 2008 has been a very rough but good year for me, I hope it was for you too, although I’ve heard it has been pretty bad for most people. In any case I wish you a happy 2009 and the very best for this new year. Sincerely, me.
It has been a long time since my last post; job is not really absorbing but I simply don’t spend much time in front of the computer anymore. I have watched The Godfather trilogy recently and I wanted to write one of my eclectic reviews, but the idea of sitting for one hour writing in two languages isn’t very attractive right now. (more…)
