Monitor, and stuff

Well, it seems the monitor is not definitely dead; it comes and goes, and I can do some stuff while it works (although painfully). I was able to write the second part of my Hyperion Cantos review, add a SPF record to my domain, and add a little feature for the site: in the sidebar you can see which song I’m listening to right now, if I’m using WinAmp. It uses yet another WordPress plugin, a WinAmp plugin, and some custom code I wrote (and which could be in the next onAirNow release).

If you’re already visiting the site, please take into account that it’s not exactly finished yet plus there’s a terrible lack of content. Please be patient while I iron out the bugs and place some of the stuff I’ve written in the last years. If I’m able to find it, of course.

Creative Commons

In the end I’ve decided to adhere to a known license, and distribute my work under the Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Commercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 License. I’ve updated the relevant page accordingly, and a banner is placed in every page of this site, in the Site Meta located at the right sidebar.

Insecurely secure

I was finally uploading a semi-definitive version of Pi in the Sky to EligeOtraVez.net when I noticed a small error in the XHTML code of one of the posts. I went there to edit it, make the change, press save and… Oooops! 403: Forbidden. You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/post.php on this server. (more…)

Start

Well, I’m not getting tired of tweaking WordPress, Vistered Little, plugins and PHP code, but I think it’s time to start doing things with all this instead of just playing around without actually using the site. So this is the first serious post of the site, and hopefully the first of many others.
