(more…)

(more…)

So yesterday I was shopping and I pampered myself with two whimsical things I had from long ago. The first one is Gil Elvgren - The Complete Pin-Ups, which I’ve been searching for a long time, and that I found by pure chance. A wonderful thing, and with this thing of Taschen’s 25th anniversary, very cheapy. The other one is M.C. Escher, Graphic Work, and this one was also ubercheap for the quality it has. And both of them were together! I didn’t want to separate one of each other so I bought both ^_^

Hart’s Hope is a fantasy novel written in 1983 by Orson Scott Card. Hart’s Hope is not the usual sword & sorcery book, with a hero who finds allies to fight against the darkness. It’s very far from the genre’s standards, and maybe that’s one of its strong points. (more…)

The Lords of the Instrumentality is a four book edition containing the science fiction novels and short stories related to the universe often called Instrumentality of Mankind. As far as I know, this is the first edition of its kind, compiling all the works by Cordwainer Smith in this magnificently imaginative and lyrical universe. (more…)

I wrote this many years ago and posted it in a forum. Here it is, mainly unchanged and uncorrected. I’ll do another list one of these days.
This is a selection I’ve made of the books I’ve read from a list of timeless SciFi classics. The comments are mine, I’ve read all the books except where noted. I hope this makes someone to get interest in SciFi, or if you already have that interest, makes you discover another gem. (more…)
