(more…)

I’ve bought one of those driving wheels for the PS2. The whimsical me wanted one since I started playing racing games. Since I’m not too rich, I bought the cheapest choice I’ve found, the Speedracer Lite by Ardistel for only 24.90 euros. I’ve spent about two hours trying it in Gran Turismo 3. (more…)

Ico is a PlayStation 2 game developed and released in 2001 by Sony, specifically by International Production Studio 1. It was one of the first games developed for PS2 by the maker, and one of the few re-released games they have. Ico is an action-adventure game, with emphasis in exploration and ambient. (more…)

So finally today I got the adapter, and I’ve plugged the PS2 to this ancient TV. Pretty much I can say it works, however I’ve not had much luck with the games. Over the last months, and since I learned that one of the old PS2 worked, I’ve downloaded several classics, and burned them to DVD. I think I did everything well, yet most of the games don’t work. To celebrate the 12th anniversary of the series, EA is releasing the original Command & Conquer for free. Both the GDI and the Nod discs are available as ISO files, which can be burned into CDs, or mounted in virtual units with tools like Daemon Tools, UltraISO or Alcohol. Which IMHO it’s much more practical. There’s also documentation for making the game run under Windows XP. (more…)

A little bird told me that mame.net is going to disappear, and the domain is going to redirect to the one and only official MAME site. To remark this occasion, I’m reposting this little thing I wrote in a private forum about a year ago, about the parties and flamewars happening in mame.net boards (and other MAME-related boards, but mainly in mame.net). It is mainly original and untouched, although I added a couple of words here and there. Only funny for people who have visited those boards.
Who says 2006 says 2007 or any other year. This is currently a never-ending and rarely changing cycle, which has certain steps, some very frequent, and some very rare. (more…)

Since it seems that I’ve stopped playing DDR for a bit, and I’m not reaching the first million of steps in Dance With Intensity on this 2007 iteration (I started in February), I’m already making this list of the most difficult songs in Dance Dance Revolution games. Note that I play with the keyboard, so it is different in nature compared to a list of most difficult songs played with feet; although most of the really hard songs should be the same. (more…)

Most people who know me, already know that I like Tetris very much, and it’s in fact one of my favorite games. I do not claim to be the best Tetris player in the world, although I had my days of glory: I was the first one in the arcade where I used to play to reach to 1000 lines in the 1988 arcade rendition by Sega.
